Formed in the 1920’s, Lake Martin is a 44,000-acre freshwater lake rimmed with 750 miles of old-growth forest. It is one of the cleanest and largest man-made lakes in the United States. Located in the southern Appalachians, Lake Martin is just two hours from Atlanta, 90 minutes from Birmingham and one hour from Montgomery.
